What's Included

Outward Bound Australia will develop an effective program designed around your school's educational vision, values and personal development themes.  For each course, we provide fully qualified staff, course related equipment and food. We provide an extensive safety network to ensure the safest possible programs are delivered.  Each school has a designated Outward Bound Client Manager, who is the single point of contact for your school.

WHAT OUTWARD BOUND SUPPLIES

All participants are issued the following:

• Fully adjustable backpack
• Sleeping bag and inner sheet
• All activity gear and equipment such as helmets, climbing and abseiling rope, Personal Flotation Device (PFD) for water activities, harness' and initiative resources.
• Food (1-3 day food drops at a time)
• Groundsheet
• Bivvy and bivvy cords and other 'tent' shelter as needed
• Communal water bottles
• Personal toilet paper to maintain hygiene standards
• Group cooking gear
• Group map and compass
• A certificate on completion. This is internationally recognised and useful for students' resume

• A comprehensive safety network. Each instructor carries a hand held radio linked to a national network staffed 24 hours a day. 4 wheel drive vehicles, capable of transporting people and equipment, support each course.
• Public Liability Insurance to the value of $50 million.
• Transport while on course.
• Activity equipment and course needs.
• Qualified instructors. All have equivalent to Certificate IV in Outdoor Recreation or higher.
• Presentation to students, parents and staff at your school outlining safety aspects and program design.

Exclusions:

• Transport to and from program site.
• Medical expenses. These are covered by the student's public or private medical insurance.
• Personal clothing. Outward Bound provides a clothing list emphasising old and inexpensive clothing.
• Gear loss and damage.
