THE AREA

The Victorian Snowy River region has been highlighted by Banjo Patterson’s poem ‘The Man From Snowy River’. In this unique, beautiful landscape the river meanders down from the high country surrounded by giant gum trees and abundant wildlife. It is easy to imagine the characters and lifestyle that inspired the poem when getting up close and personal with the magnificence of the Snowy Mountains.

The Snowy river region provides a striking back drop for a true wilderness experience. A huge variety of alpine plants and animals flourish, as well as our shy native platypus who’s population in the region is highly regarded.
