Boral Leaders Return with Determination to Succeed

Boral and Outward Bound continue to work together to produce the leaders of tomorrow.  Two more groups have recently completed the Outward Bound Leadership Experience at National Base at Tharwa.

The participants spend seven days facing a variety of physical and leadership challenges designed to teach them about themselves and their role as a leader.

Boral has been sending participants on the course since 2003. Learning Services Manager at Boral, Kathy Mackay, says the relationship between Outward Bound and Boral is one valued very highly by the organisation.

“The benefits we see in the staff when they return from the Outward Bound Leadership Experiences are amazing. Everyone who takes part benefits hugely from it.  Being part of the program makes the Boral leadership team stronger.”

National Aspiring Leaders Summit 2010 Delegates Announced

Outward Bound would like to congratulate the following people who have been chosen to attend the National Aspiring Leaders Summit for 2010. The delegates will head to National Base in May for a seven day experience to help them develop skills they can use to make a positive difference in the community.

Held in partnership with The Smith Family, this is the fourth year we have hosted the summit. It is fast becoming one of Australia's premiere youth leadership events. We hope the delegates are as excited as we are.

Alice Springs Students Go Outward Bound

Twelve Alice Springs students have just returned from their 2,000 kilometre journey to National Base for an eight day Outward Bound adventure. This program was a partnership between Outward Bound and Alice Springs Partnerships for Success and was designed to provide high quality outdoor educational experiences to those in indigenous communities.

The students were chosen for their positive attitudes and have exhibited an academic potential. Last year the Partnerships for Success Program sent the students on a Tall Ship experience off the South Australian Coast, whereas this year Outward Bound was the chosen organisation to work with Partnerships for Success.
