Culture Change
Mettle: Partners in Team and Culture Development
Mettle Group and Outward Bound Australia have established a partnership to bring our clients an inimitable leadership and team development opportunity. This program combines the deep corporate credibility of Mettle’s approach to leadership, team and culture development with the undeniable power and inspiration of Outward Bound’s wilderness based experiential learning techniques.
Who is Mettle?
April 2004 saw the merging of three successful consultancies to create Mettle. The combined experience of these companies spans a variety of disciplines and approximately 25 years of local and international experience with some of the world's leading organisations. Mettle, as a leading consultancy, has worked in the transformational change field for more than 20 years. We have worked extensively across large and medium sized corporate, not-for-profit and government organisations.
Mettle specializes in aligning an organizations culture with its strategy. An organizations culture (ie. its behaviours, systems & symbols) must actively support and enable the strategy for there to be any chance of successful execution. Mettle work in shaping cultures always begins with developing and shaping the right culture within the leadership teams.
What does the program look like?
Mettle and Outward Bound have co-designed a 2 night / 2 day off-site intensive team development program. It begins with evening sessions on the fundamentals of team formation and development, then continues with workshop sessions interwoven with experiential activities designed to embed the lessons and learning. The program will involve one night “out” in the surrounding national park, and one high impact wilderness activity.
What benefits does the program deliver?
It will accelerate the formation of new teams, refocus and reinvigorate existing teams and iron out dysfunction in struggling teams. It can also be customized around an executive team’s need to address strategic or business issues – with time structured into the program for facilitated strategy workshops.
It is invaluable for leadership teams looking to galvanize themselves and their business for the economic challenges ahead.
Individuals will benefit considerably through the opportunity to understand more deeply how they work in teams and how they can play at their best within the team. The skills discovered will be transferable to all walks of life.
Why do the program?
- The value generated from the time available is unparalleled and will provide more “bangs for bucks” than other team alternatives – due to the intensity and focus of the experiences.
- The environment is unique and offers a refreshing “place apart” to review and refocus – meaning more productive outputs.
- The investment is more attractive than a similar time spent at a standard offsite – yet the impact will be far greater
Outward Bound Australia is a registered charity. Your money generates revenue for Outward Bound and supplements their youth at risk and community leadership programs which help shape the personal skills, resilience and leadership abilities of the next generation of Australians.
