The ACT Region's community foundation, GreaterGood has been a long time advocate of Outward Bound, having made placements for people in the region for the past five years.

In December 2009, GreaterGood and the Australian Outward Bound Development Fund helped place seven young people from the ACT and surrounding areas on the Australian Alps Pinnacle Adventure.

Four GreaterGood benefactors, The Mundango Charitable Trust, The Bray/Kargas Fund, the Walter Turnbull Fund and the Notaras Family Fund advised they liked to support youth development in the ACT Region and felt this could best be achieved in partnership with Outward Bound.

The seven participants from GreaterGood on the Australian Alps Pinnacle had come from Braidwood, Tumut, Ulladulla, Queanbeyan and Canberra. They hiked their way across the stunning Namadgi National Park as it was bathed in sunshine. Other activities included abseiling, caving and ropes activities.

Participant Rebecca Klimp said the experience was challenging but she had learned a lot about herself.

"The course was great! I feel a lot more confident and believe in myself and what I can achieve," Rebecca said.
