More than 120 student leaders arrived in the Gold Coast last week for the 11th annual Alliance of Girl's School Australasia (AGSA) Student Leadership Conference.

The conference aims to build leadership skills and provide leadership experience for young women so that they are better prepared to excel in leadership roles in the future.

The Alliance group -from the United States, New Zealand, Singapore and Australia- have been chosen by their school principals as potential leaders for the future.

Outward Bound partners with the Alliance to help the girls improve their public speaking and communications skills, team work, team building and goal setting skills.

Alliance Executive Officer, Jan Butler believes the conference is an excellent stepping stone for young women leaders.

"The girls are so all motivated. It's an amazing experience for them and really helps them develop as leaders for the years ahead. I have spoken to girls years after attending the conference and they tell me they still use the skills they learned here," Ms Butler said.

Outward Bound CEO, Darren Black said that Outward Bound strives to help develop tomorrow's leaders.

"We aim to provide young Australians with real life experiences to help them overcome adversity and reach their full potential. We take great pride in helping to develop future leaders," he said.

The five day conference concluded on Sunday 17th January.

The Alliance of Girl's Schools Australasia is a not for profit organisation that consists of government, independent and catholic schools across Australasia. It aims to promote the education of girls in single sex girl's schools.
